This course is the second term of the short-form improv curriculum. In this curriculum, we’ll be learning improv games, studying comedic principles, and pushing you to be an entertaining performer.
This course will introduce “game of the scene”, continue with analysis and practice of different games, and encourage you to improve at games you feel are not your stongest.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this course, you need to have completed Short-form Term 1 or a similar course elsewhere.
You can join this course if you’ve completed the Improv Level 2a – Short-form course of the old curriculum.
What you’ll be doing in this Course
You’ll be introduced to the concept of “game of the scene”, which is about finding the game in an interaction or scenario and playing it out (or “heightening” it) for comedy. Game is very prevalent in sketch comedy and clowning. You will also practice more games to broaden your experience and round off your skills.
No Showcase Performance
There will not be performance showcase at the end of this course.
